Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Grandma's Comfort is a small charity in Lansing, Michigan that provides handcrafted, personal, and other needed items to women and families in crisis. The charity works entirely through other agencies and is unable to provide assistance to individuals. The facility is private and cannot provide shelter..

“Rejoice Forever!” That was on the back of an envelope of a thank-you note from a woman who had received a GC birthday gift bag. The outside envelope continued:

"You do something no one else does, in a manner no one else does it. When you do, your uniqueness meets God’s purpose."

The inside note was so sweet: " Wow. Your gift really touched me! Love the bag (it’s my new Bible bag). I had a terrible day and got back to the shelter and they gave me the gift. Made me happy!! Inspires me to want to do a work for God!! Thank you so much." J

GC Partners

As a Christian charity, Grandma's Comfort enables its partners to expand their current provisions to those in need with personal touches of caring and comfort. EveryGC gift bag contains Christian literature for spiritual guidance and encouragement through the gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Others, such as Grandma's Comfort Crafters, partner with us in this endeavor.

Winter Needs

Blankets and quilts for all ages; winter socks; hats, scarves, mittens or gloves;.toiletries.

"The graduation went great! Thanks so much for providing the ice cream and cake and toppings! At one point, after quite a few staff had left, I counted 37 people in the cafeteria, so many people attended and got to hear the testimony of what God has done in her life over the past year. Praise God! We are praying for her to continue to follow Jesus as she takes these next steps in her faith journey.

Providing Comfort

An all-volunteer charity, Grandma's Comfort works alongside faith-based organizations in Michigan, to provide their guests with gift bags--small comfort bags and large welcome totes, birthday presents, newborn layettes and handcrafted mom's bags, backpacks, and Christmas gifts. .Through missionary friends, the charity provides crafts, socks, and full bins of items to orphanages in Haiti and India.
